Sales of Bitcoin Frogs, an NFT collection based on the Bitcoin network, reached $2.24 million with 602 transactions in a single day, surpassing Bored Ape Yacht Club (BAYC). This information is reported by CryptoSlam.
BAYC is the largest collection in terms of overall market share, but in the past 24 hours, it ranked fourth in sales with $1.1 million from 11 deals.
In May, the trading volume of Bitcoin Frogs reached $6.65 million. In March and April, this figure was only $246,000 and $52,000, respectively.
The total number of Bitcoin NFT collection holders has reached 2,785 out of the total issuance of 10,000 tokens. The average holding time for the asset is approximately 13 days.
In the Bitcoin Frogs Discord channel, the initiative is described as a “free project” aimed at “promoting the adoption of Ordinals technology.”
Meanwhile, the overall sales volume of Bitcoin-based NFTs is rapidly gaining momentum. Over the past 24 hours, the figure has increased by 57% to $8.3 million. However, the dynamics of Ethereum tokens have decreased by 18%.
Recall that in May, Bitcoin Core developer Luke Dash Jr. proposed applying a “spam filter” to BRC-20 and Ordinals tokens due to their negative impact on the Bitcoin network. According to him, such an approach would help “filter out” transactions associated with them, which Dash referred to as “junk.”
